When it comes to compact sedans, you can either choose boring, or you can choose the Subaru Impreza.
The standard Impreza shares a rally DNA with its big brothers, sporting superb handling and great performance. The development of the Subaru Global Platform, debuting on the new Impreza, upgraded every bit of that legendary driving feel. Additionally, the car is now even safer, more nimble around the bends, and more stable at high speed.
There are two defining hallmarks of the Subaru driving experience, namely the low centre of gravity offered by a horizontally-opposed engine, and the superb traction of permanent all-wheel drive. The Impreza is no exception. A 2.0-litre direct-injection boxer engine drives an Active Torque Split All-Wheel Drive system, dynamically adjusting front-rear torque split to ensure that maximum power is transferred to the road. Paddle shifters behind the steering wheel handle gear shifts on the 7-speed Lineartronic CVT transmission.
Speaking of safety, the latest-generation Impreza scored highly in all of the world’s most stringent crash safety tests. To help collisions from happening, though, the ES model sports the EyeSight suite of assistive safety technologies. EyeSight is, as its name suggests, like a second pair of eyes on the road. This suite of technologies assists in collision avoidance, such as pre-collision braking and parking assist, driving support, including adaptive cruise control and lane-depart assistance, vision assists, which helps monitor and identify obstacles around the vehicle, and more.
You can choose one of eight elegant paint colours that are designed to accentuate and compliment the Impreza’s striking lines, and either 17” or 18” aluminium alloy wheels. On the inside, leather seats, as well as a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear lever, are available as options, ensuring both comfort and luxury.
